Pakistan Cricket team didn’t have an ideal outing in the most-hyped event World Cup this year and it was quite predictable to foresee some systematic changes for good. The domestic cricket restructuring and grass-root level changes worked as a ray of hope for Pakistan cricket. And another game-changing decision to takeover is about Misbah-ul-Haq getting in the house as head coach and chief selector of Pakistan cricket team. On the other hand, Waqar Younis taking on as a bowling coach in this latest spell.

It was overall taken as one delightful headline for the Pakistani cricketers and fans as the former test captain Misbah is widely admired for his on and off the field attitude. Not only this, his heroics of making Pakistan stand as number 1 Test team are something unforgettable. Undoubtedly, Misbah is the best thing happened to Pakistan cricket in recent times. Amid all this, cricket fans and pundits seem really optimistic about the Test mace winner taking the office on two crucial positions.
At the same time, few of the cricket pundits seem not very impressed by the technique of having the same person as head coach and chief selectors simultaneously. And still many were pleased to know this decision as its propelling in Football, same manager-coach technique.
As the cricket pundits were up with their opinions about this matter, one point that not only raised eyebrows but talked some sense was by none other than Harsha Bhogle. The cricket expert and commentator from the other side of the border got a point about a similar person being appointed on two crucial roles at the same time as it won’t be something convenient for the cricketers. Bhogle was of the view that this move would actually affect players bonding with the coach.
Never been a fan of one person being coach and selector. Players come to a coach with a problem. If they know that that knowledge could result in them being dropped, they may not be honest with coaches. #Misbah

Apart from Bhogle’s remarks, it seems like this well-versed decision is going fine with the cricket fans out there. It should be noted here that Misbah applied hours before the deadline for this position, still stood tall in front of Dean Jones and Mohsin Khan, who were other strong contenders for the position of head coach of Pakistan Cricket Team.
What’s more interesting to the scenario is Waqar served twice as head coach when Misbah was leading as a captain of the national side and now once again both are appointed on the key positions, one can expect big from Misbah-Waqar partnership.
Expressing his excitement over donning hat as a coach and chief selector of the national cricket team, Misbah expressed his excitement with saying that: “It is very humbling for me to join a select group of some of the very best to have coached the Pakistan national sides in the past. It is an honour and more than that, a massive responsibility as we live and breathe cricket.”
At the same time, PCB CE Wasim Khan congratulated the former Pakistan Cricket team captain over getting appointed for two important roles for next 3-years. “We are delighted to have someone of Misbah-ul-Haq’s leadership, skill, and stature taking on the responsibility of our national team,” said PCB CE Khan.
